Chitterchatter
Sarah 2 years to 2y2mons milestone was focusing more on her language and speech development. I’m continuously amazed by her ability to construct sentences and her expression when talking. It used to be just “main!”, then “main.playground!” and now she can say one full sentence “kakak.nak.main.playground.cantik!” (yeah, with pauses in between words, LOL, semput!). Her speech development really helps us to know her needs, her wants, her feelings and her opinion on something. Here’re few interesting conversations we had with her for the past 2 months. (Note: she still couldn’t pronounce her name well, it would be either Tayah, Cayah, Qaitayah, Qaicayah or simply Qaicahh. *hehe*)

On “i’m big enough i know what is good/bad”
SCENE 1: I was having my sekali-sekala dose of TV at her opah’s house when she went to the TV and turned it off. Looking at me, with her index finger swaying in front of her face, she said “No TV! No Cartoons!” ………………… o_O. Dude, girl, i’m not even watching a cartoon show! *goshhh* she already developed her kakak-ness, showing some authority in the house! (and who ever made the rule in this house to cannot watch any cartoons anyway?)
SCENE 2: Sometimes i wear those small tshirts with wide neck at home. And came that lil goody-2-shoes, pulling up my shirt neckline from above the boobs to the neck and said “Tutup, tutup!”…………omg, Ustazah alert! xkasi can mama show some cleaveage at home langsung!
SCENE 3: Before going to bed, we usually read some story books. Nama pun getting-ready-for-bed kan, so i crossed one leg and the other leg straight on the bed, freestyle lahh. However, Sarah seems like couldn’t concentrate reading, instead she just have to say this to me….. “Sit prop(er)ly, cross your legs” (while trying to lift my leg into ‘bersila’ position). OMGgggodd! i could see mr.Daddy was restraining himself from laughing while solat that time, and yeah, *bedebush* to mama: ‘shame on you!’ . She must’ve learn that at school coz i know the kids usually sit on the floor, and she’s now repeating what she experienced at school to me!!
A conversation during dinner time:
- Me : Sarah, you want some more chicken?
- Sarah: Want some more chicken.
- Me : (Putting a chunk of chicken meat in her bowl)
- Sarah: (Struggling to cut the chicken into small pieces with her plastic spoon)
- Me: You want me to help you to cut the chicken?
- Sarah: (shake heads. continue trying to cut the chicken, vigoroulsy.seems very hungry. hmmm.)
- Me: Mama promise mama potong chicken cepat-cepat, ok?
- Sarah: (Looking at me, handing over her spoon for me to cut the chicken, and said…) Cepat, mama! cepat, mama! faster, mama! faster, mama! (repeat this in a cheer-like rhythm for 15-20 seconds, till i finish cutting the chicken!)
- Me & mr.Daddy: (LOLs)
CONCLUSION: She didn’t want her mama to help her prolly because “mama potong chicken lembab giler okeh!”. *huahuaaa*. Btw, she does eat a lot if she’s really hungry! (and she loves ONIONS. yeah, onions that you use to sautee Ayam Masak Kicap tu!)
A conversation before i go to work:
- Me : ok Sarah. Mama’s going to work. See you in the evening!
- Sarah: Sarah nak ikut mama (go to) work. Kakak nak pergi mama’s office.
- Me : What are you going to do at mama’s office? Mama nak buat kerja, nak taip kerja (*gosh* such boring work your mama does, honeyh!)
- Sarah: Kakak nak tolong mama. Kakak nak tolong mama type type type (insert *mukacebek* here)
- Me : ?!
CONCLUSION: What a kind-hearted daughter i have, huh? Lucky me my daughter insist on being my typist! LOL
Another conversation before i go to work (after sending her home from school in the afternoon):
- Me : Mama pergi office dulu, Sarah. Bye!
- Sarah: Kakak nak ikut pergi mama’s officcccce…
- Me : You rest at home ok? Kakak penat pergi school tadi kan? Kakak tidur la dekat rumah. Ofis mama tak ada katil, ada kerusi je.
- Sarah: (insert *optimisticface* here) Kakak (boleh) tidur atas keruci??!
- Me: ?!!
CONCLUSION: Problem solving bebeh, problem solving. You don’t have bed at work, i can still sleep on the chair! As long as you bring me along!!
