Sarah’s overused words
‘Pa-berk’ / ‘ba-berg’ = balloons. Since her first birthday (first time ever she saw so many balloons i guess!), i have to carry a pack of balloons in her diaper bag just in case she goes berserk shouting “pa-bek!!!!! pa-bek! pa-bekkkkk!” in a shopping complex when she saw some kids with balloons. In most cases, we would hunt which shop that gave away the free balloons…and luckily, Sarah’s wishes were usually granted :D. On one occasional case, Sarah’s Tok Mi had to buy one for her from the florist at OU as we couldn’t track down where the free balloons are from ( and saving me the clown stunt of blowing up a balloon from my emergency-balloon-pack there & then.. *phew*. hehe. )
‘Bok’ / Ball = ball. Everything similar to the shape of a ball is ball/’bok’ lah!
‘Ta-tak’ = Everything else. She usually calls me with a mellow-voice ‘ta-tak’, or ‘ma-mak’ (aiyo dear, i’m no near to anak mami lar, might be the skin colour but no no mamak ok!). Sarah’s daddy got a special ‘da-dak’ :P And recently, Sarah’s daddy taught her to say ‘monkey’ (she has a monkey not-really-a-toy thing at home). When mr.daddy said “Monkkkkkk…….key!” (monk tu 6 harkat ya ibu2..), she will just go “Taaaaaaaaa……tak!” (yes, with the 6 harkat ‘taaaaaaa’ too..). So much of teaching her a new word, huh?
‘Pek’ = keropok. This word is quite new. Solely taught by Sarah’s Mak Su, I mean, the eating keropok part. Since our Cherating trip, the house is practically stocked with keropok Kemaman (gosh, that reminds me, gotta hide the huge container of keropok from Sarah, she is still coughing really badly! uwargh!)
;P
